This year, I will be running the Falmouth Road Race with Grannie's Gang in support of CCALS in honor of Ann Sermos. Ann was the mother of my dearest friend, Caitlin Dotolo, and she was so much more than that to so many of us. She welcomed her children's friends into her home as if we were family. She always invited you to stay for dinner, asked how you were doing, and genuinely cared about the answer. She had a way of making everyone feel loved, supported, and at home. When Ann was diagnosed with ALS, we witnessed firsthand the devastating impact this disease has not only on the person diagnosed but on their entire family. ALS takes so much, and despite the incredible courage of those who battle it, there is still no cure. I am running in Ann's memory and to help support CCALS, an organization that provides critical resources, support, and hope to individuals and families facing ALS.
