Thank you for visiting the 'Neuro Degene-RAIDERS' fundraising page for the 2026 Falmouth Road Race to support Compassionate Care ALS!
Andy Johnson was diagnosed with upper limb onset, sporadic ALS at age 40. His passion for living are seen in all the metaphorical 'hats' he has worn throughout his life. Chemist, science teacher, high school mentor, carpenter (Handy Andy), art installer (shout out to SJ Art Consulting), surfer, wing-foiler, skier, beachbum, etc. He's worked in every position in multiple restaurants and hotels from the east coast to the west coast, embodying the hospitality world, while pursuing his dream in the arts as an actor. (Maybe he's sold a Labatt Blue Light to you!)
Within the past few years, he's settled on the north shore working at the well-known microbiology facility, New England Biolabs. During these years, he met his lovely wife from northern Italy, Alexia. Being a dad was one 'hat' that Andy hadn't worn yet, and was very excited to embark on fatherhood. When his wife was 34 weeks pregnant, he got the official diagnosis. The only thing Andy wanted to do now was not only be the best girl dad on the planet, but to also join the community and help fight this disease. He's formed the Degene-Raiders to help create awareness of this neurodegenerative disease that's so difficult for families of those affected, as well as doctors and scientists that struggle with the variability of ALS.
We are excited to run the seven miles in support of an organization that means so much to us. Funds raised from Falmouth Road Race allow Compassionate Care ALS to provide direct services and durable goods to ALS patients, their families, and their caregivers. Please give generously and assist us in making a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS!
